Sunday River 1/11/14-1/12/14 Results

Saturday’s GS race was cancelled due to unsafe conditions on the mountain. We attempted to make up the missed race on Sunday by racing two courses simultaneously. However, the first runs from each race ran until well after lunch, so the second runs for each race were cancelled. Our newbies were really great about being where they needed to be even though this weekend was very unusual! The women came 7th and 8th out of 13 teams. The men came in 4th and 8th. Unfortunately we had quite a few racers crash and not finish one or both races. Cara had to be taken to first aid with a possibly torn ACL. Out of about 130 racers David came in 10th and 7th, Alex B came in 15th, and Jason came in 25th.

Sunday River Weekend #2

Excited to bring 19 racers up to Sunday River this weekend instead of 7! Both races are scheduled for GS, but will likely be switched to slolem due to weather conditions. We won't let a little rain keep us off the mountain though! Also a very happy birthday to one of our new racers, Elise!

First Race at Sunday River Results

We had a great showing this weekend from those who did show! Mike Pratt did a great job in his first ever ski race! Freshman Sarah Weigel also had a great first collegiate race finishing 13th on Sunday! On Saturday the men's team finished 4th out of 13 teams, with David Villari finishing 5th overall. On Sunday the men finished 2nd with David in 3rd place and Jerel Ward in 15th.  The women placed 6th on Saturday and moved up to 5th on Sunday.

First Race of the 2014 Season at Sunday River

Happy New Year! I know the Boston University Ski Racing Team is looking forward to a new year of ski racing! This weekend (January 4th-5th) is our first race weekend of the season. It will be two days of slolem races at Sunday River. Seven of our athletes are battling the cold weather to compete!
