New England and the World
October 24 & 25, 2014
The American and New England Studies Program at Boston University hosted its 2014 graduate student conference: “New England and the World in October” The conference gathered an international community of scholars.
Panels were held on a variety of New England topics: People in the City, Shaping Colonial Identities, Rethinking the New England Mind, and Community, Conflict and Cannibalism. The keynote speaker, urban historian Dolores Hayden, opened the conference with a discussion of the under representation of women designers and architects in the history of design and architecture.
