WHO WE ARE

The BUATP is a student-led, faculty-mentored training program that provides training in medical advocacy to members of the Boston University community. Founded as a student-led elective class called “The Spectrum of Physician Advocacy”¬† in 2005, the BUATP grew into a multi-year curriculum that currently trains approximately 15% of each incoming class. We are¬†influenced by the understanding that the health and well-being of our patients and communities require deep training and practical experience in understanding and addressing the social determinants of health.
