Executive Board Elections for 2010/2011!

Below is the descriptions of available positions for 2010/2011:

Vice President of Programs & Events

a. Responsible for organizing a minimum of two (2) 85 Broads campus events per semester via original planning and/or through maintaining a list of campus events that are high profile and of high interest to 85 Broads.
b. Main point of contact between University event planning and 85 Broads.
c. Lead event planning and logistics (Catering, B&G, GSU tech/Media)
d. Point person for planning and execution of Annual Spring Conference, requiring fall semester planning and kick-off of action plan from setting date and reservation of space to securing speakers and working with committee to create conference program. Devising point persons for Spring Conference tasks.
e. Coordination and direction of Events committee for execution and organization of regular Chapter events and such other activities related to the organization of events.
f. Generates and passes along content regarding Social/Professional/Community Service Events, Event committee, Fundraising Events to executive board
g. Identify, attract, and invite members through beginning/end of year recruiting events
h. Promote 85 Broads with the aim of increasing exposure and membership by 15%.
i. Develop and define Chapter’s membership recruitment strategy.

Vice President of Public Relations

a. Establish relationships with other campus organizations within Boston University and other colleges through email communication about events or invitations for collaboration.
b. Work with other partner universities to organize combined events and assist VP of Programs & Events.
c. Works closely with VP of Marketing to distribute information to external sources and internal university groups (University newsletters, calendars, 85 Broads network page, etc.)
d. Responsible for all communications with chapter members via email, Facebook, and other social media. Responsible for keeping an up-to-date Club roster.
e. Promote Chapter events and ensure appropriate exposure of Chapter activities and events with VP of Marketing and Advertising
f. Foster and maintain relations with media and other key relations groups on 85 Broads website, blog about Chapter activities and events.
g. Update Chapter description on Chapter’s page on website.
h. Reach out to administrators, faculty, and/or students in region’s core schools.
i. Maintain email regarding Publicity, Specific Member inquiries, 85 Broads collegiate chapter relations, PR/media relations
j. Send out invites and manage RSVPs.

Vice President of Marketing & Advertising

a. Profile 85 Broads’ events and achievements in campus newspaper/media via written articles, photos, or other forms of documentation
b. Responsible for executing marketing and advertising campaigns and strategy.
c. Reach out to appropriate contacts regarding advertising placement and opportunities as well as securing approval from SAO of all documents
d. Follow-up with advertising and marketing opportunities as well as ensure proper placement and use of all “85 Broads” is appropriate.
e. Maintain emails regarding Marketing & Advertising inquiries and confirmations
f. Work closely with VP of Public Relations & VP of Programs and Events to communicate and execute events.
g. Responsible for developing fliers and creative work appropriate for advertising and event or communication.
h. Responsible for securing appropriate advertising space and creating a distribution strategy for fliers or information, working closely with VP of Public Relations.
i. Must have some experience with blogs/simple web site content updates to maintain the online presences of 85 Broads BU
j. Set up event website/registration website for Spring Conference. (Suggested: www.eventbrite.com)

Vice President of Corporate Relations

a. Devise ways and means of financing any and all club activities requiring funds (i.e sponsors) and engaging the executive board and/or corporate relations committee for assistance
b. Planning and organizing fund raising activities stimulating awareness of 85 Broads purposes and goals and such other matters as may be deemed appropriate. (Working with VP of Programs and Events)
c. To source and maintain relationships with potential sponsors (i.e. corporate sponsors for monetary donations, etc.)
d. Maintain relations with key corporate and individual sponsors through a database of contacts.
e. Coordinate all sponsorship efforts and manage and support the Sponsorship team.
f. Distributes corporate relations packages, mailings, and another other communications with collaboration from the rest of the board.
g. Applicable to the Spring Conference: responsible for, in addition to monetary support, also raffle/item/food donation support

Vice President of Finance

a. In charge of all monetary transactions.
b. Responsible for drafting and maintaining a Club budget in conjunction with the President
c. Responsible for all financial matters, including sending receipts and invoices to sponsors.
d. Main point of communication with 85 Broads HQ regarding all fiscal ideas and issues.
e. Maintain email and communication regarding Finance/SAO inquiries & paperwork
f. Manage email labels, and notify others if reply needed
g. Keeping up to date financial information readily accessible to executive board
h. Developing a budget for the Spring conference expenses.

We are looking forward to this year’s Spring Conference, “Rising to the Top” March 27, 2010 which will be held at Boston University’s School of Hospitality from 9:00AM – 5:00 PM.
