Danielle, a once self-proclaimed hater of mathematics, developed her interest the subject upon her discovery of statistics. She received her B.A. in Mathematical Science from Elms College out in good ol’ Western Massachusetts and her M.A. in Biostatistics here at Boston University in May 2012. Originally from Chicopee, Mass, she currently resides in Brookline. Danielle also works for the Framingham Heart Study and looks forward to someday researching diseases such as fibromyalgia – inspired by her mother’s diagnosis in 2006. If you get up at the crack of dawn you’ll likely catch a glimpse of Danielle on one of her long runs, however besides accumulating an insane amount of miles – she also likes to read fiction novels & spend time with her cat Jackson, her friends, and her family. To negate all that hard work hitting the pavement, she makes sure to bake lots of sweets (and we hope eat them!) – And someday dreams of retiring to a villa in Italy where she will eat copious amounts of pasta (yum). Hipster Fabulousness
Sean Lacey is a 5th year PhD student who hails from Andover, KS. He got his B.S. in Mathematics in 2007 from Oklahoma Christian University. During his summer break in 2006 he attended SIBS (Summer Institute in Biostatistics) at BU [shout out to year 3 grads!]. He now works with Dr. Larson at the Framingham Heart Study after completing training with the Multi-Disciplinary Training Grant. Seans research interests are focused in Statistics Genetics, which he will hopefully continue when he begins work on his Thesis in upcoming months. Sean loves cooking (a recent discovery), ‘causual biking’, and all things sports. He’s a big music and movie buff – and has an affinity for trashy TV such as *cough* Jersey Shore. Liz is a 2nd year PhD student with a BA in Mathematics from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, and a MS in Statistics from the University of Rhode Island. After receiving her master’s degree in 2008, she worked as a statistical analyst/programmer at Massachusetts General Hospital for 3 years where she collaborated with cardiologists and statisticians at the Framingham Heart Study. After taking Statistical Genetics I at BU in 2009 per request of her supervisor, she realized there was still a lot to be learned and decided that she wanted to further her education. Little did she know that the rote work of a programmer and the ability to actually enjoy her weekends was better than the soul crushing stress of a PhD program. To relieve her stress, Liz enjoys travelling and trying new beers with her husband, Phil, of four years and playing their dogter, Kacie. Liz can be reached at her email: kane1215@bu.edu.
Treasurer: Meredith Stevenson

Meredith Stevenson is a 2nd year PhD student and is originally from Madisonville, KY but she doesn’t like KFC and has never been to the Kentucky Derby. Meredith received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Murray State University in May 2011. As an undergrad, Meredith had aspirations of being an actuary, but developed an interest in biostatistics after attending SIBS in 2010 at the University of South Florida. In the summer of 2012, Meredith worked on clinical trials revolving around aging with Dr. Tom Travison. She is currently on the Multi-Disciplinary Training Grant and hopes to become more involved in clinical trials research at the conclusion of the academic year. During her precious free time, Meredith enjoys kickboxing, spending time with friends, watching mindless television (not Jersey Shore), and trying fun New England things (like apple picking!).
