2012-2013 Season Overview

We are thrilled to have had such a successful 2012-2013 show season. Boston University ended up in 3rd place for high point team in Region 4 of Zone 1. Boston University’s own Lily Zarrella won an award for best captain for the 2012-2013 season. After Regionals, three of our riders qualified to go onto Zones. Carly Corbacho and Meghan Kaupp qualified for Open Fences, while Sarah Broadbent qualified for Intermediate Fences. Meghan Kaupp was champion in Open Fences and Sarah Broadbent was reserve champion in Intermediate Fences, qualifying them both for IHSA Nationals in Harrisburg, PA. At Nationals, Meghan Kaupp placed 7th overall in the Varsity Individual Open Fences and Sarah Broadbent received an honorable mention in Varsity Individual Intermediate Fences. We are all so proud of these riders and the team as a whole and can’t wait for the 2013-2014 season!

A special thank you to our amazing captain Lily Zarrella for making the 2012-2013 season a success and congratulations on graduating!

Back to Back Wins!

The Boston University Equestrian Team has started off our season by taking home high point team at horse shows hosted by Tufts University on October 6th and Wheaton College October 13th. Highlights of the Tufts show include sophomore Carly Corbacho winning high point rider and freshman Sarah Broadbent claiming reserve high point rider. Additionally, sophomore Charlotte Barton took home her first blue ribbon in the walk trot division. We're so excited for our double header Halloween weekend when we will host our home show at Holly Hill Show Stables on Saturday and ride at Mt. Ida on Sunday.
