More Blues for BUET!

BUET had another banner weekend at the Boston College and Tufts/Wheaton shows, taking home two more team high point awards! Their current season record stands 4-0, with just one show left in the regular fall season. Congratulations to our two new regional qualifiers, Julia Boral and Caroline Rakip, who will represent BUET in Novice Flat and Fences, respectively. Junior Hiva Hosseini also made a fantastic debut in the Walk Trot division, competing in her first show ever! Complete results below:

IHSA Nationals 2016

BUET Captain Leal Morehouse (COM '16) and Junior Captain Clare Bornstein (CAS, COM '17) were selected to compete among the nation's best riders at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Finals in Lexington, Kentucky on May 5th, 2016. Qualifying in as individuals in Open Fences and Intermediate Fences respectively, the two riders were accompanied by head coach Phyllis Cervelli and secretary Jackie Leogrande (Questrom '16). Leal Morehouse finished with an honorable mention, while Clare Bornstein finished with a 10th place finish. Congratulations ladies!

Additional congratulations to our wonderful captain Meghan Kaupp for winning the Senior Captain of the Year award for her leadership, dedication, and sportsmanship. In addition, Meghan won the BU Club Sports award for Program Advancement!

Carly Corbacho, in addition to being the Region 4 Open High Point Rider and representing the team at nationals, was recognized as the BU Club Sports Female Athlete of the Year!

2012-2013 Season Overview

We are thrilled to have had such a successful 2012-2013 show season. Boston University ended up in 3rd place for high point team in Region 4 of Zone 1. Boston University's own Lily Zarrella won an award for best captain for the 2012-2013 season. After Regionals, three of our riders qualified to go onto Zones. Carly Corbacho and Meghan Kaupp qualified for Open Fences, while Sarah Broadbent qualified for Intermediate Fences. Meghan Kaupp was champion in Open Fences and Sarah Broadbent was reserve champion in Intermediate Fences, qualifying them both for IHSA Nationals in Harrisburg, PA. At Nationals, Meghan Kaupp placed 7th overall in the Varsity Individual Open Fences and Sarah Broadbent received an honorable mention in Varsity Individual Intermediate Fences. We are all so proud of these riders and the team as a whole and can't wait for the 2013-2014 season!
