When did you start fencing? At the beginning of my freshman fall semester, 7 short months ago.

Why did you start fencing? It was almost accidental. A floormate of mine (Flora Zhu) asked if I wanted to go to the infosession. Not having anything else to do at the moment, I said yes and tagged along. Not more than 15 minutes into meeting everyone at the club I knew that the club and I were a great fit for each other. I now consider those cool people I met on a Thursday night in September my family.

What is one of your favorite fencing memories? Don’t make me pick! It’s either the murder mysteries (I co-wrote one that took place in Ancient Greece with Emma Ryan, and that was awesome, because we got to be gods) or the many trips to sunset to bond with the team.

What is one of your favorite memories with BUFC? Writing and planning the murder mystery took over 30 combined hours. Each hour was incredibly fun and filled with plenty of laughing at how absolutely genius our writing was. If I had to pick one memory, it would probably be that process.

What was a proud moment in your BU fencing career? Getting to DEs at The Big One, which was my first tournament. I was really not expecting it, and I was so happy I actually fell to my knees. There’s photographic evidence!

Off the fencing strip: As of March 2015, I’m a part of two youtube channels. I co-host an Assassin’s Creed community podcast called the “Animus Island Podcast” with two friends of mine (one of whom I met at orientation at BU!) and I contribute comedy summaries of historical events to a friend of mine’s youtube channel, which is called “Overly Sarcastic Productions”. Lots of work goes into making videos for each channel, but they’re both fun in their own ways and I love making videos.
