The Art and Attack of Kendo

Kendo is the martial art of Japanese fencing which originates from the feudal samurai culture of ancient Japan.  The Boston University Kendo Association accommodates all levels of Kendo- from intense advanced practices to introducing Kendo to newcomers. We welcome anyone who wishes to participate.

Our club sends teams and individuals to compete in Cornell University’s Annual Kendo Tournament in the fall as well as Harvard’s  Shoryuhai Kendo Tournament in the spring and holds regular practices three times a week. Weekend practices are from 10am-12pm, and Wednesday practices are from 8pm-10pm at Boston University’s Fitness and Recreation Center. Practices are held during the fall and spring semesters only. There are no practices during the summer nor during winter break.
