			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://www.bu.edu/art">BU Art Gallery</a> (BUAG) is pleased to announce the appointment of <a href="http://www.bu.edu/phpbin/news/releases/display.php?id=2197">Kate McNamara</a> to the role of Director and Chief Curator.  McNamara comes to BUAG with an extensive background in curation and instruction both in New York and Western Massachusetts working at <a href="http://ps1.org/">MoMA PS1</a> (Long Island City, NY),  <a href="http://www.bronxmuseum.org/">The Bronx Museum</a> (New York, NY) and <a href="http://www.realartways.org/">Real Art Ways</a> (Hartford, CT), among many others.  She will fill the position currently being held ad interim by Exhibitions and Special Projects Coordinator of <a href="http://www.bu.edu/cfa/visual-arts/">BU’s School of Visual Arts</a> Lynne Cooney and will begin her tenure in mid-March.</p>

<p>The <a href="http://www.bu.edu/art/">BUAG</a> at the Stone Gallery premieres <a href="http://www.bu.edu/phpbin/calendar/event.php?id=106450&amp;cid=17&amp;oid=0"><em>Three Artists at the Caversham Press</em></a> tomorrow, presented concurrently with <a href="http://www.bu.edu/cfa/2011/01/21/south-africa%E2%80%99s-caversham-press-to-be-highlighted-at-boston-university/"><em>South Africa: Artists, Prints, Comunity/ Twenty Five Years at the Caversham Press</em></a> at the <a href="http://www.bu.edu/cfa/visual-arts/galleries/">808 Gallery</a>. Three Artists showcases <a href="http://www.africansuccess.org/visuFiche.php?id=602&amp;lang=en">Deborah Bell</a>, <a href="http://www.artprintsa.com/robert-hodgins.html">Robert Hogins</a> and <a href="http://www.collectiveartisan.com/artist-bio/william-kentridge/">William Kentridge</a>, three South African artists that were instrumental in early years of the <a href="http://www.cavershamcentre.org/">Caversham Press</a>. Both exhibitions begins today, with an opening reception on Thursday, February 10 at 6PM.  <strong>The openings and exhibitions are free and open to the public.</strong></p>
