Robert Lowell Memorial Lecture tonight

The Creative Writing Program will host its annual Robert Lowell Memorial Lecture featuring former Poet Laureate and 2011 Pulitzer Prize winner Kay Ryan and program alumna Katherine Hollander tonight at 7:00 PM in the Photonics Center, Room 206. The Lecture was established to bring distinguished writers to campus to read alongside recent graduates of the program. It is funded by Nancy Livingston and Fred M. Levin through The Shenson Foundation, in memory of Drs. Ben & A. Jess Shenson. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Creative Writing hosts faculty reading tonight

The Creative Writing Program, one of the oldest writing programs in the country, is hosting their annual faculty reading tonight at 6:00 PM in the SMG Auditorium (595 Comm. Ave). Faculty participating include:

Robert Pinsky reading tonight

The Creative Writing Program is hosting famed poet and BU Professor of Poetry Robert Pinsky for a reading from his newest book Selected Poems. Pinsky was formerly a United States Poet Laureate and has written nineteen books. The event will take place tonight at 7:30 PM in the Photonics Center (8 Saint Mary’s Street) in Room 206 and is free and open to the public.

The Boston University Creative Writing Program is celebrating The Poets Society of America’s Centennial anniversary by featuring writers Frank Bidart, Major Jackson, X.J. Kennedy, Mary Oliver, James Tate, Rosanna Warren and Franz Wright. The poets will read their own poetry and the work of canonical New Englanders from the past century. Admission to the reading is free and open to the public with a private ticketed reception to follow.

Jess Shenson, invites celebrated contemporary Polish poet Adam Zagajewski, David Ferry and Valerie Duff for a reception and poetry reading tonight at 7:30 at the School of Management. The event is free and open to the public.
