Dr. Kim R. Dunbar is this year’s BUWIC student-elected colloquium speaker. She arrives at Boston University on Friday April 23rd from Texas A&M where she is Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Davidson Chair of Science.

Professsor Dunbar’s research is aimed at identifying important synthetic and structural challenges in the fields of inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry. Her group utilizes a breadth of analytical techniques, including electronic EPR, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, AC and DC magnetic magnetometry, mass spectrometry and electrochemistry, to try and solve problems at the interface of materials and biological chemistry. Her lab also synthesizes compounds to probe new structure and bonding relationships. For more information visit the Dunbar Research Group site.

BUWIC will host a “Q & A” lunch seminar with Dr. Dunbar from 12 to 1:00 pm in LSEB 103.
