Alexa

Hey guys! My name is Alexa Galloway and I am so excited to be apart of the COM Ambassador program! I am a freshman from Santa Maria, California and contrary to popular belief, my summers did not consist of lying around the beach all day. In high school I was ASB President and Co-Captain of my varsity basketball team who won a state championship my senior year. I am planning to major in Broadcast Journalism and would like my career to be in Sports Broadcast.

I think everyone has their “A-HA” moment where they realize exactly what they want to do. (This is a theory that I have yet to completely prove and is completely up to interpretation), and mine came while I was at a Los Angeles Dodgers game in late August of my senior year. I was sitting in my seat when I saw journalist, Erin Andrews of ESPN interviewing my favorite player, Andre Ethier. It was then that I thought, “Wow how cool is that!” Now of course, my process went a little farther then how cool I thought interviewing a sport player was, but it was the moment that led me to start researching more into a career with sports.

At BU, I am a Co-Star of the reality series COMlife, (If you want to learn how to make macaroni and cheese in the microwave, Episode 2 should satisfy your needs) and have also been involved with the Sports show, Terrier Nation. I know it’s important to get involved with your school, but I think it’s also really important to just enjoy yourself in college! In my free time I have been having fun exploring this wonderful city and most of the time you can find me in the North End eating pasta and or devouring red velvet cupcakes from Mike’s Pastry.  I love all things BU and can’t wait to help you guys see why the College of Communication is so great!
