Kaitlin

Hey guys! My name is Kaitlin and I’m from a small town called Southold on Long Island (so you’ll probably make fun of the way I say “water.”) I come from a big family who I miss everyday, so it’s nice to be pretty close to home.

I’m a sophomore here in COM, majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Arabic. I fell in love with PR in the middle of my freshman year, when I realized that Broadcast Journalism wasn’t really my thing. I’m the Vice President of Public Relations (just a really long name for firm director) for BU’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and needless to say, I’m pretty in love with it.

As for the Arabic, I’m also a cadet in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) on campus, and I was encouraged to choose to study a language, so of course I picked the hardest one imaginable. Just kidding, I love it, and my passion for it helped send me to Rabat, Morocco this past summer to study for two months. I had the awesome experience to intern with an agency that teaches Moroccan Non-government Organizations (NGOs) how to use social media. It was a crazy experience that I recommend that everyone tries to go abroad!

My biggest passion is for yoga. I’ve been practicing since about 2008, and completed my 200-hour teacher training at Back Bay Yoga Studio here in Boston at the end of January 2012. No matter where I am or what I’m doing, chances are I’m thinking about a pose. It’s a pretty lovely obsession.
