Hello and congrats to the BU COM class of 2016! My name is Tiffany Feng and I am a junior here at BU’s College of Communication. I was born and raised in Orange County, California, but have been converted to loving the changing seasons and living in a big city. I am pursuing a degree in advertising and a minor in sociology in hopes of one day working in a large advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York like the famous Mad Men of the 1960s.
Along with my love for advertising, I also have a passion for dance. I grew up dancing ballet and during my freshman year, I joined a hip-hop dance team called Fusion here at BU. I am also an avid member of multiple culture groups on campus and enjoy learning about various cultural customs, watching traditional dances, and eating various kinds of ethnic foods.
I am an amateur foodie and love exploring new restaurants and food carts wherever I go. Boston is especially a great place for food exploration with a nice variety of food trucks all along campus on Comm Ave as well as all of Boston’s hidden treasures in the North End, Coolidge Corner, and across the Charles River in Cambridge.
I spent this previous summer abroad in London where I took classes through COM as well as taking on a full-time internship. While in London, I worked at a fashion PR agency and loved being immersed into a working environment with the local Londoners where I really got to learn the culture, customs, and lingo.
Aside from interning in London, I’ve also done an internship back home in southern California as well as here in Boston. I also am on the Executive Board for BU’s very own full-service, student-run advertising agency where I get the opportunity to work with real clients and create exciting work.
I look forward to meeting you all and wish you all a happy and warm spring!
