People who stutter are needed to participate in a research project at Boston University (BU) and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)

The Speech Lab at Boston University’s Cognitive and Neural Systems Department is seeking people who stutter to participate in a research study on speech production and stuttering.

Recordings of brain activity will be made during speech production using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The study will be performed at the Massachusetts General Hospital Imaging Center in Charlestown, MA and at Boston University. Subjects are required to have persistent developmental stuttering, be right handed, have normal hearing, and be native speakers of American English.

The study will require a 1-hour screening session, two 1-hour word reading sessions and a 2-hour imaging session.

Subjects will receive renumeration for participation in the study.
