Jack Mara

Jack, along with B.U. Baseball Hall of Famers Tim Masick and Nick Stipanovich made up the finest mound staff in the history of B.U. baseball. As co-captain of the ‘68 Terriers, Jack helped to lead his team to the NCAA playoff tournament. He won the first game while making a rare relief appearance in a very tense extra-inning game.
Jack as a junior posted a 4-1 record. In one of his pitching appearances, he allowed just one ground ball single in a strong win over Northeastern.
In the game prior, Jack pitched a 1-0 nine-inning shutout over Providence while driving in the only run with a base hit.
