Executive Summary:

Virginia A. Greiman is a Professor at Boston University in international law and development and project finance, global cyber law and governance, international business transactions, and megaprojects and planning.  She is a recognized scholar and expert on megaprojects, national cyber strategies and cyber law, project complexity, conflict management and dispute resolution, cyber trafficking, and international sustainable development.  She has part-time teaching and academic appointments at  Harvard University Law School, and Harvard Kennedy School of Government.  She has served as a visiting scholar to  Universities in Taiwan, Liberia, South Africa, China, Spain, Hungary and England.

She served as a diplomatic official to the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development in Eastern and Central Europe, Asia and Africa on privatization and economic development, and she has held executive and advisory positions with several of the world’s largest megaprojects including Boston’s Central Artery/Tunnel Project, the U.S. Nuclear Power Industry, the UK’s Crossrail Project, and development in the South China Sea.

She  published the first definitive book on megaprojects entitled:  Megaproject Management:  Lessons on Risk and Project Management from the Big Dig, John Wiley & Sons, publisher © 2013, New York, London, Hoboken and recently served as a co- author of Integrated Program Management and Systems Engineering, Eric Rebentisch, (ed.) John Wiley & Sons, publisher © 2017.

Prof. Greiman has served in several high-level appointments for the United States government, including as United States Trustee for the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., and has served as international legal counsel to the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development on economic development and privatization projects in Eastern and Central Europe, Africa and Asia.  She has served on diplomatic and humanitarian missions to India, Liberia, South Africa, and China.
