Who We Are
GSHAAA* seeks to support student scholarly endeavors and departmental life, provide academic and professional development opportunities, and fund student research and travel. Through the organization of social and departmental events, we aim to foster and grow an academic community comprised of participation from all cohorts. GSHAAA also plans a variety of programs aimed at providing mentorship to new students, navigating degree requirements, and preparing for professional life beyond BU.
We seek to:
- Provide opportunities for graduate students to present their work.
- Organize reading groups, courses, and lectures given by guest speakers.
- Host informal orientations and workshops on professional and academic development.
- Oversee an annual symposium and journal volume for graduate student research.
- Assist graduate students with financial support for research, travel, or other needs.
- Sponsor social events that encourage the development of an HAA community.
- Foster a collegial, collaborative, and equitable relationship among all students and faculty.
*All graduate students in HAA are automatically members of GSHAAA.
