March Madness

Hey Habitaters,26876_1238678171881_1377060041_577508_5089178_n

We hope that everyone had some great time off this Spring Break. Our trip of 22 that drove 30 hours down to Palm Beach, Florida has returned after what sounds like a very successful week. It’s great to hear all the stories about the week of building and contributing down there, it’s also clear that everyone had a great time too. This annual trip has proven to be hugely successful recurring event for Habitat and we’re very proud to offer it. Hopefully you all will be able to take advantage of it at some point during your time at BU! Pictures will be up soon…

ELECTIONS – hopefully the caps lock was eye catching just then. Elections for the Eboard will be at our next meeting on Tuesday, March 30 at 8pm. If you have any interest in the positions at all, please swing by and be prepared to make a brief speech on why you think you’re qualified. Positions include president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, fundraising, public relations chair, build trip coordinator, spring break coordinator, and webmaster.

The weather has started to turn this week so that’s all the more reason for wanting to do some building outdoors. We have Two build trips this Saturday, March 20 heading out to the Boston Rescue Mission and one with Greater Boston which will be led by Lauren and myself. Next Saturday John will be leading the trip to Merrimack Valley, so be sure to email him at jbatoha@bu.edu to see if there are spots remaining for any of the three trips.

alicia-keys-01Agganis Cleanup is this Monday night after the Alicia Keys concert. Let us know at habitat@bu.edu if you are interested in bringing some friends down to help cleanup after the show. It shouldn’t take too long. Rumors are that Alicia herself will be picking up trash with us.

Last but not least, Sleep Out, our three day fundraising event will be held Wednesday through Friday April 21-23rd. Start getting sponsors anytime now.

That’s about it for now. Please stay in touch and email for any questions
