S. Hamid Nawab is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
- He is Joint Professor of Biomedical Engineering.
- His research interests are in intelligent signal patternization (ISP) for solving perceiving machine problems in speech, hearing, and neuroscience.
- He co-pioneered the Integrated Processing and Understanding of Signals (IPUS) architecture for developing ISP solutions.
- He was elected into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) in 2006.
- He was cited by AIMBE for his “contributions to the analysis of complex biosignals from speech, auditory, and neuromuscular systems.”
- He won the 1993 Metcalf Award for Excellence in Teaching from Boston University.
