Please come join the Human Rights Law Society in the BUSL Auditorium on March 20th at 3:45 PM for an event with South Sudan activist Gabriel Bol Deng.

Gabriel is a “Lost Boy” of Sudan who is now promoting peace in South Sudan by building schools for its children and empowering women through economic opportunities. He has just returned from an eventful 2 month trip to South Sudan, and recently met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. His goal is that by sharing his life story and work of promoting peace through education in South Sudan, that our community will be inspired to be more globally minded citizens. We’re lucky to have Gabriel – please come out!

Thursday, March 8th, 4:15-5:15, room 1420:

A talk with Bakyt Beshimov. Mr Beshimov was a prominent opposition leader in Kyrgyzstan and came to the US after two assassination attempts on his life in 2009. He participated in the scholars at risk program at Harvard last year, and is a visiting scholar at Suffolk this year.
