Acquiring Technology from Universities (In your lifetime…)
March 26th, 6pm-9pm
Broad Institute, 7 Cambridge Center, Cambridge, MA
Acquiring rights to intellectual property is often a key step in starting a life science or technology company. While both parties stand to gain from a successful agreement, experiences can vary in how smoothly this process works. This panel will offer perspectives from all sides of the process, including: an entrepreneur, a technology transfer specialist, an investor, and a patent attorney. Topics include the basics of obtaining technology from inventors and universities, how to choose a partner, and ways to improve the chances of a successful (and timely) outcome.
