Weekly Oral Reports
On Thursdays, each student will deliver an oral report based on an article of his choice or an article on a specific topic chosen by the instructor.
To prepare, choose an article on a BUSINESS topic from one of the following publications:
FORBES, FORTUNE, WALL S T JOURNAL, NY TIMES, USA TODAY, US WORLD REPORT, BUSINESS WEEK, TIME, NEWSWEEK, FINANCIAL TIMES
1. Choose an article that you are certain you can understand and explain.
2. Read the article at least twice.
3. Highlight the important information.
4. Copy down words that you think may be new to your colleagues. You will write them on the board for your classmates.
5. Practice retelling the main idea and supporting details from the article. Do NOT write a summary, just practice giving an ORAL summary.
6. On Thursday, you will deliver your oral report to a small group of your classmates who will ask you questions and engage in a discussion of the topic.
