Music ^_^

I love to perform! I come from a musical family, so I gravitated to violin, dance, and musical theater as a kid. Growing up in Chicago allowed me to take advantage of some great performance opportunities, and I’ve been lucky enough to perform in orchestras all over the country as well as dance ensembles and musicals at my high school (IMSA) and college (WashU). I’m trying to stay involved in the performance arts; if you’re in Boston and have suggestions for great ensembles, let me know!

Orchestras (violinist): Chicago Public Schools All-City Symphony Orchestra, Hyde Park Youth Symphony Orchestra, IMSA Chamber Orchestra, IMSA pit orchestra (Once Upon a Mattress), WashU Symphony Orchestra, WashU Chamber Ensembles, Orchestrating Diversity– El Sistema St Louis (leadership team), Northwestern University Summer Orchestra, National Association of Negro Musicians youth orchestra, National Institutes of Health (NIH) Orchestra, Boston University All-Campus Orchestra

Choirs (alto): Edgar Allen Poe Classical School choir, Chicago Community Chorus, Chicago Children’s Chorus, IMSA Gospel choir (co-head and arranger), IMSA show choir “Off Sullivan”

Dance: I’ve dabbled in a lot of dance styles including jazz and tap when I was younger and Korean pop, bollywood, bhangra, bellydance, and more starting in high school. See my channel, JazzyKayOnBroadway, which was named that when I was 14 (*blush*) or check out my dance playlist below.

I sometimes choreograph!

Other: I was type-cast into Little Shop of Horrors in high school (my debut night was also my retirement night! acting is hard…).  I also play piano and ukulele, and I know my way around a flute, clarinet, and guitar.
