Homework for 4/13/15

  1. Speaking: Prepare poster presentations for Monday. Each person should be able to  talk about the entire poster for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Pronunciation: Clear Speech, Ch. 10 & 11

Homework for 4/8/2015

  1. Speaking: Prepare your poster presentation on the topic of social media/tv/the internet for Wednesday. Follow the examples that we looked at in class as well as the descriptions on the handout. Be prepared to speaking fluently about your topic for 5 minutes (without pauses) on Wednesday.

1. Listening: Listen extensively on the Internet about the topic of kids and television or kids and the Internet. Listen to many, many links so that you become an expert on this topic. Selectively choose two of your favorite links to share with the class on Monday. Students will be randomly selected to share their links with the whole class.

  1. Listening: Working with your partner, listen extensively to the topic that you chose in class today. Become an expert on your current event by the next class. On Wednesday, you and your partner with write 5-10 questions and answers about your topic that you will present to the class as interviewer and interviewee.

2. Vocabulary: Continue to add 5 new words each day to your vocabulary notebook. At this point, try putting them into phrases and/or sentences.

2. Vocabulary: Continue to add 5 new words each day to your vocabulary notebook. Also, do the HO from class (writing down 15 of your new words).

  2. Read: Units 4 & 5 in Clear Speech. Do all exercises.
  3. Presentations: Begin preparing your individual presentation.

  1. Read: Unit 3 in Clear Speech. Do all exercises on pp. 18-24. Use the CELOP website to access the audiotext.
  2. Vocabulary: Write down 5 more vocabulary words in your vocabulary notebook (you should have 15 total now). Chart the words as demonstrated in class. Pay attention to “the count” for each word.
