  1. Presentations: Prepare a 3-minute PowerPoint presentation (of about 10 slides) about your favorite hobby. Present in class on Wednesday.

  1. Answer the 10 “understanding the plot” questions for EPICAC.
  2. Write a review of EPICAC (one paragraph) by following the examples on p. 132 in the book. Print and give to Jen in class on Monday.

  1. Rewrite your mid-term assessment based on teacher’s corrections and feedback. Submit both copies (#1 and #2) on Wednesday.
  2. Complete pp. 94-95 and pp. 98-102 in your book.

  1. Complete the HO from class (related to Ch. 5 and the narrative genre).
  2. (Optional): Continue writing literal and figurative descriptions of everyday objects.

For June 29, 2015

  1. Finish Apollo 13 (through Ch. 18). There will be a test next Wednesday.
  2. Review Ch. 1-5 in Interactions 1. Focus on the language skills we’ve been using to develop and refine our writing.
  3. Midterm Writing Exam: There will be an in-class writing test on Monday, June 29th at 1:30 in the computer lab. The topic will be assigned at the start of class, so please be punctual. You will have one hour to plan, write, and edit your test.

  1. Do the “pre-writing” tasks for Ch. 3 on pp. 42-43.
  2. Do the Part 2 writing tasks pp. 48-51.
  3. Do the Apollo 13 worksheet to review Ch. 1-6.

1. Write a descriptive paragraph about the painting, Watson and the Shark on p. 22. Follow the directions on p. 33 (#12). Please print your paragraph and bring it to class on Wednesday.

1. Write a 2nd draft of your paragraph about a classmate (be sure to include an interesting title)
