The scenes with the child militia were incredibly disturbing in their unsensational way. I didn't quite understand the very end, namely Maria's final action. It seemed symbolically appropriate but not totally comprehensible in terms of the character. Still, the best film the three very good ones I've seen at the French Film Festival.
