In case you haven’t seen this week’s searing expose of RUNNING ON EMPTY 2012 in this week’s Boston Comedy Examiner, here’s a taste:
On Friday, March 23, Boston University’s premiere improv group Liquid Fun will embark on its 7th annual “Running on Empty” marathon, a 24-hour improv festival to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank. Since 2005, Liquid Fun’s annual marathon has grown markedly in attendance and guest performances, but this year’s event raises the bar: more than 16 improv troupes from across Boston and Massachusetts are set to perform between 7 PM on Friday until the closing bell at 7 PM on Saturday, March 24. Guest troupes include ImprovBoston’s Face Off, Improv Jones Boston, First impACT Theater, Kitsch In Sync and Hamaconda. The festival will also include ten college troupes from BU, Northeastern, Harvard, Brandeis, Emerson, Gordon, WPI and UMass Amherst and 2012 ImprovBoston College Comedy Beanpot champions NU & Improv’d (Northeastern).
