“GET INVOLVED” !

Liquid Fun does NOT hold auditions to become a member.  We have open rehearsals, year-round, on Sunday nights from 7 to 9 PM in CAS 316 — that are open to everyone of any level of improv skill or interest. Improv master? Our socks are always up for knocking off. Novice? We’ll teach you!

Since LF performs a mix of long-form, short-form and games, our practices are always being switched up to expose improvisers to various skill sets and approaches to improv comedy. One night might be character building and scenework, and the next listening games and plot development. Variety is our middle name despite what you may have heard ( “Felix” is just a vicious rumor ). Again, our open practices are Sundays from 7 to 9 PM in CAS 316.

We also have “Ensemble Practices” on Thursday nights. These practices are open to invited members who have been coming to the Sunday practices and have demonstrated a mastery of the basic skills of improv. Performers are drawn from people who consistently show up to ensemble practices with funny pants on (and well-pressed!), based on comfort and skill with the LF improv style. Our goal is to eventually move anyone who shows commitment to learning improv and being a member of Liquid Fun into the Ensemble Practices. This is why, although we have a private practice, we do not consider ourselves an audition group.

“HISTORY” !

Legend has it that Liquid Fun was the freakish precipitate of an experiment gone awry in the secret Gatorade labs beneath Nickerson Field… but that’s pure conjecture. The bare facts are these: hands down the most active, versatile and (if we may be so bold) debonair troupe on campus, Liquid Fun performs long- and short-form improv, theater sports (think Whose Line without the ABC Family guilt) and all manner of experimental improvised forms in between.

Liquid Fun performs at least one 100% FREE show (and usually two or even three) every month. Our Sunday rehearsals are completely open, and “audition” is not a part of the LF vocabulary.

It’s free. It’s fun… it’s liquid?
