Vacationing in Paris is truly a dream. This beautiful city will stay in your heart regardless of your vacation style or preferences. It counts with innumerable places to visit, things to do, and a wide variety of Paris accommodations that will suit any budget.
It is widely known for such famous sites as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral, yet it has much more to offer than these popular tourist places. Fashionable boutiques, elegant restaurants and charming make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
A visit to the Eiffel Tower during your Paris stay is a must. It is without doubt the city’s most famous monument and one of the most visited tourist sites in the world with over 6 million visitors per year. If you are visiting Paris during summer months, be prepared for extremely long lines and crowds of tourists. Winter is better if you don’t like waiting in line.
The Louvre is another must in your list of things to do while in a Paris vacation rental. One of the world’s greatest museums, a historic monument and a national symbol, the Louvre is home to such world-famous masterpieces as Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and Madonna of the Rocks. Its collection contains almost 35,000 pieces including Egyptian antiquities, Greek and Roman art, Islamic pieces, paintings and drawings and much more. It is absolutely impossible to see everything during just one visit but there are theme tours organized for those who want to see particular sections or just famous masterpieces.
If you are a fan of modern architecture then make sure to visit La Defense, one of the largest business centers in the world. Located one and a half miles west of the city, La Defense boasts many spectacular modern buildings such as the Great Arch which perfectly lines up with the historical Arch of Triumph from Champs-Elysees. This area is easily reachable by subway.
The Champs- Elysees is also in my list of favorites. It is a seventeenth century garden -promenade that connects the Concorde and Arch of Triumph. This scenic avenue is perfect for a romantic walk and is also known for its numerous elegant boutiques, movie theaters and cafes. It has been called “the most beautiful avenue in the world”.
