Its beautiful settings, nice environment and numerous restaurants, shops a make it a favorite vacation destination among tourists. At St. Michaels you can enjoy great cycling. St. Michaels’ flat country roads make it easy for both expert and beginner cyclists to explore the town and discover its beautiful surroundings. A 36 mile circular route from St. Michaels to Oxford is available. If you prefer it you can also take St Michael’s walking tour. If you are heading to Baltimore then make sure to visit Baltimore’s Museum of Art. This museum is one of the State’s major attractions featuring numerous paintings and exhibits from famous artists worldwide. If you appreciate art, a visit to this museum is a must. If you like the animal world more than art, then you can also visit to Baltimore’s National Aquarium. A unique showcase featuring more than 11,000 birds, fish mammals and reptiles this aquarium is an ideal attraction for families.

If you are up for a mind challenging activity then a good idea is to head to the Maryland Science Center. At this place you will learn and explore as you watch optical illusions or see one of the exhibits featuring dinosaurs, the body and the space.

If you are an outdoor fanatic then there is also a great option for you in Southern Maryland; the Gilbert Run Park. Located eight miles east of La Plata, this park provides a beautiful setting for a picnic and great fishing opportunities. You can also find hiking and nature trails and a Nature Center that features a 150 gallon aquarium and a variety of natural specimens. The park is opened from March to November with seasonal hours of operation. It is a favorite among tourists that want to spend some time connecting with nature and with the family.
