SH 524 Language Acquisition (Spring semester)
This undergraduate course covers normative language development from infancy through school age, with an emphasis on cognitive processes underlying language learning.
SH 708 Models of Language (Fall semester)
This graduate course covers foundational topics in psycholinguistics from speech perception and single word recognition through syntactic and discourse processing. The readings are journal articles; there is no textbook. Though primarily intended for MS students in the Speech-Pathology program, graduate students in Linguistics, Psychology, and Education have also taken this course.
I’ve also taught journal seminar and independent study courses in our doctoral program, in which we read foundational literature in some domain (e.g., language development).
