Chien-Kai Chen is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at Boston University. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in political science from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, and the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, U.S.A., respectively. Focusing on the region of Northeast Asia, he does research on topics that concern both international relations and comparative politics, including “the rise of China,” “China-Taiwan relations,” “cross-strait economic ties,” “economic development in Northeast Asian countries,” and “Taiwan’s democratization.”
