Stephen M. Davidson is Professor of Health Sector Management and Policy at the Boston University School of Management.  He has a bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. 

For more than 35 years he has studied and taught about the U. S. health care system at BU, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern University.  He is former director of B.U.’s graduate program in Health Care Management.  He is the author of numerous articles and 6 books, the last of which, “In Urgent Need of Reform:  The U. S. Health Care System,” is in production at the Stanford University Press.  Previous books have included “Remaking Medicaid:  Managed Care for the Public Good” (with S. A. Somers) and “The Physician-Manager Alliance:  Building the Healthy Health Care System” (with M. McCollom and J. Heineke).
