HI 219 New York trip

In front of the Eldridge Street Synagogue (now a museum)

On November 10 six students travelled down to New York with me – where we met two dads – for a walking tour of the Lower East Side, a visit to the Tenement Museum, and lunch at Katz’s Deli. We intended to start our day viewing the interior of Temple Emanu-El on the Upper East Side but we were short on time due to a late train (next time!). I thought I’d make these pictures available for the students, their families, and the general viewing public. Thanks to the History Department, the Elie Wiesel Center for Judaic Studies, and the CAS Academic Enhancement Fund for generously funding this trip.

On Houston, waiting for Katz's...
