I am a member of the Information and Data Sciences (IDS) Group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University. I am also affiliated with the Division of Systems Engineering.

I am interested in problems arising in Machine Learning, Statistical Signal Processing, Control & Information theory. My recent research activities include machine learning under budget constraints, information theoretic bounds for recovery of sparse phenomena, anomaly detection on graphs and topic modeling.

Another focus of my recent research is on developing concepts and tools for video analytics in highly cluttered and urban scenarios. This includes search and retrieval problems in large video datasets as well as algorithms for real-time anomaly detection.

Hi, Prof.Venkatesh.

I am one student from Nanjing university, China. We are doing a work referancing your cvpr 2012 video abnormal detection paper. And we are arrving at the experiment part. We need your code to run to compare with.

Thanks for your email. The person who was responsible for the experiments has left BU and I do not have the code. I think the algorithm is fairly straightforward. If you have questions about the paper — please let me know.

Dear Prof. Venkatesh,
I introduce myself as a Project Associate at Video Analytics Lab, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. I am working on crowd flow analysis in particular anamoly detection in crowded scenarios. Recently I came across your interesting paper “Behavior Subtraction” . I would like to work on your database to validate my algorithm. I kindly requst you to issue me the database which you worked on.

Best Regards
R Gnana Praveen
