I Think I Should Go To Daytona Beach…

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Daytona Beach is another fabulous city in Florida, home to NASCAR’s Daytona 500, famous as a popular spring break destination for college and high school students, and an overall sunny and spectacular place to visit.

Daytona Beach is historically recognized for its densely packed beach allowing motor vehicles to drive right onto the beach, proliferating the automobile race scene and the general party atmosphere. Daytona Beach has many vacation rentals, hotels, and motels that line the actual beach area.  Many places offer Daytona Beach condo rentals as a luxurious alternative to staying with millions of college kids or NASCAR fans.

A less recognized tourist attraction in Daytona Beach is its abundance of golf courses, attracting the casual golfer and the more serious golfer. These golf courses include the Daytona Beach Golf Course, the Golf Club at Cypress Head, and the Spruce Creek Country Club, just to name a few.

The Daytona 500 is the Super Bowl of NASCAR traditionally held as the first race and kick-off to the long NASCAR Race season. Fans travel from all over the country to attend this prestigious event and for all race fans, a must see race event.  If you cannot make it to the Daytona 500, it is still possible to go to the racetrack and its accompanying Daytona USA, which offers IMAX films, motion simulators, and tours of the racetrack. For the casual spectator or the diehard race fan, this is a fascinating experience.

The best time to visit Daytona Beach is in the springtime beginning in early March where the weather offers warm afternoons and cool evenings, perfect for lying on the beach and going out on the town. For fans of lovely weather, glimpses into the history of stock car racing and NASCAR, superbly kept golf courses, and an improved culinary scene, come to Daytona Beach.
