Tryouts Fall 2013
First, we would like to thank you all for coming out. This was one of the hardest cuts we have made in a long time, and we STRONGLY encourage anyone who didn’t make the team to continue playing through the year and try out again next year. A lot of what factors into choosing players are the positions that happen to be filled or open, and this can change drastically from year to year.
That being said, posted below is the final BUVB team for the ’13-14′ season. If your number is listed, you’ve made the team. Congratulations. We’ll see you at practice tomorrow (Tues) night!!

Thank you again to everyone for your patience and for working so hard!
We are a committed group of players who love the game of volleyball and we strive to have a very competitive and hard-working team.
We play in the NWVCL (Northeast Women’s Volleyball Club League). We are the defending NWVCL league champions for 2010, and also held this title in 2009 and 2007. In 2008, we won 4 league tournaments and were ranked 23rd in the country at the end of league play. In the 2006-2007 season, we won 3 league tournaments and were ranked 11th nationally at the end of league play.
Our season runs September-April, with the majority of tournaments held during second semester. Every April we travel to compete in NCVF Club Volleyball Nationals.
Practices times are
Tuesdays 6- 8 pm
Thursdays 6-8 pm
Sundays 12-2 pm
We practice and play at Boston University’s Fitness and Recreation Center (FitRec), located at 915 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, MA. Directions can be found here.
As a club team, we are not in a position to award scholarships to players or recruit. We’re happy to answer any questions about the team for anyone who is thinking about BU or is already coming and interested in playing (visit “contact” page). If you’re coming to visit as a high school student and want to meet someone from the team or come visit a practice, email us and we can work something out. Tryouts are held to determine the team every fall and are open to all BU undergrads. Grad students can participate as practice players only.
We are partially funded by school assistance and member dues, but we work hard to fundraise all year. If you are interested in donating money or sponsoring the team, please contact us.
