{"id":336,"date":"2010-11-18T12:26:26","date_gmt":"2010-11-18T16:26:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/bjuarez\/?p=336"},"modified":"2010-12-04T20:40:24","modified_gmt":"2010-12-05T00:40:24","slug":"336","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/bjuarez\/2010\/11\/18\/336\/","title":{"rendered":"Ronan Tynan: Surgeon, Athlete, and Yes, Irish Tenor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ronan Tynan Performance and Talk<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once again BU offered a full cultural menu last night. \u00a0 I attended a concert and talk by tenor, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ronantynan.net\/\">Ronan Tynan<\/a>, at the Tsai Center sponsored by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/dbin\/archives\/\">Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center<\/a>.\u00a0 Many know of Tynan as one of the Irish Tenors but there is a lot more to this talented and hardworking artist.\u00a0 He is a champion equestrian,\u00a0 18-time Paralymbics Gold medalist, and a medical doctor.\u00a0 Tynan is the embodyment of a happy fusion of art and science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boston University Baroque Orchestra<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment344\" style=\"width: 185px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment344\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-344 \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/bjuarez\/files\/2010\/11\/mp.photo.jpg\" alt=\"mp.photo\" width=\"175\" height=\"210\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment344\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Professor Martin Pearlman.
