The Boston University Advocacy Training Program (BUATP) at Boston University School of Medicine began in 2005 as a student-led, faculty-mentored free-time elective to teach medical students about social determinants of health\u00a0and\u00a0how to advocate on behalf of patients. \u00a0Our program has since grown into a longitudinal advocacy curriculum for medical students.<\/p>\n

We seek to promote advocacy and awareness of social determinants among all students at the medical campus. \u00a0BUATP provides unique educational and leadership opportunities for students interested in learning more about\u00a0how to they can leverage their roles as health professionals to advocate for change.<\/p>\n
