Recap of Fall 2019 Season

BUET has had an incredible start to our 2019-2020 season! We welcomed 15 new riders after impressive tryouts in September.

Our season began at University of Connecticut for the pre-season Tournament of Champions. Lanie Bricker and Angela Egger both rode to 8th place in the high and low medals respectively. Egger was 3rd in limit fences and Jane Hilsenrath was 3rd in limit flat.

We started the season at Brandeis/Tufts with the reserve high point team title. Several of our new riders made remarkable IHSA debuts for the team, setting the tone for our continued success this semester.

All in all, BUET collected 3 high point team ribbons, 3 reserve high point team ribbons, 4 high point rider ribbons, and 2 reserve high point rider ribbons over the 7 shows we had this semester. BUET also had 5 riders qualify for regionals- Lizzy Nevins (‘23) in open fences, Lanie Bricker (‘21) in intermediate fences, Angela Egger (‘20) in limit fences, Jane Hilsenrath (‘21) in limit flat, and Mireille Wando (‘20) in introductory.

Special shoutout to Sarah Watanabe (‘23) who proved to be a BUET MVP, earning 3 high point and 1 reserve high point rider ribbons.
