Pastry Chef Dawn<\/p>\n
During the visit, Chef Dawn talked about her working experience in the United States and France. Her experience in France was really unforgettable because she said in France, women chefs are overlooked and every chef need to work very hard and fast. French people are very strict with their professionals so all the chefs, including her, need to be very serious about their jobs. No matter where she works, she needs to stand all the time and run back and forth. She is always very busy and whenever customers order a birthday cake or some other dessert, she needs to work on it and produce it on time.<\/p>\n
Chef Dawn has no favorite chef and food show. According to her, \u201cTo me, it is all about art.\u201d Chef Dawn also said she tried to do better than men and it is more competitive to survive in restaurant kitchen as a woman chef. This idea is corresponding to Druckman\u2019s idea that women chefs are always placed in a subservient position in restaurant kitchen.<\/p>\n
In my opinion, Chef Dawn has been working very hard in her job. But I did not hear she talks about any media she has touched. It seems she just does what she loves to do, but she is isolated to media. I think this is fine because not everyone wants to be in touch with media. However, according to Druckman, Chef Dawn might lose the chance to make influence and change women chefs\u2019 position in restaurant kitchen due to her unwillingness of engaging in public activities or media.<\/p>\n
