Selective references to original and new member states of the EU. This course cannot be taken for credit in addition to the course with the same title that was previously numbered CAS PO 361.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">The Foundations of US Public Policy<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Provides an overview European affairs. Topics include the foreign policies of European nations, the dynamics of European integration, NATO, international migration and ethnic conflict, and European relations with the United States, Russia, and neighboring countries. This course cannot be taken for credit in addition to the course with the same title that was previously numbered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/phpbin\/course-search\/search.php?search=CASPO382&amp;yearsem=*&amp;college=\"><span class=\"s4\">CAS PO 382<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Political Economy of Advanced Industrialized Societies<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Surveys forces contributing to national differences in social and economic policy; identifies current challenges to state sovereignty, such as globalization and immigration; and examines how nations from different welfare state regimes are coping with these threats to the nation state. This course cannot be taken for credit in addition to the course with the same title that was previously numbered CAS<\/span><span class=\"s5\">\u00a0PO 621<\/span><span class=\"s1\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><strong><span class=\"s2\">Graduate Seminar in Comparative Public Policy<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Analyzes the policy problems facing industrial countries, identifies clusters of national solutions, and investigates the institutional structures contributing to cross-national variations in policy experiments.
