<\/a>With flu season in full swing, no one is safe and one of the scariest things for a new college student is facing the doctor\u2019s office alone. Luckily, BU\u2019s health services tries to make the experience as painless as possible. Here\u2019s your step-by-step guide on how to tackle the doctor\u2019s without mom.<\/p>\n

First, you have two options on how to schedule an appointment, online or by phone. If your calling in advance, they might be booked for that date, but every day they also open same-day appointments you can schedule the day of. The appointments are first come, first serve so be sure to call earlier in the day if you want an immediate appointment. You can call starting at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n

For a preregistered appointment, you check in at the computers with your student ID. Don\u2019t forget the basics like identification and your medical card. Also make sure you are on time for your appointments, because it\u2019s usually pretty busy.<\/p>\n

If you need a prescription filled, there\u2019s a CVS right across the street. Most of the medications prescribed are fully covered by the Student Health Insurance plan. If you are interested in getting a flu shot, also keep an eye out for one of their clinics throughout October.<\/p>\n
