{"id":2169,"date":"2016-02-24T11:45:07","date_gmt":"2016-02-24T16:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/?p=2169"},"modified":"2016-02-22T23:02:47","modified_gmt":"2016-02-23T04:02:47","slug":"kreag-spring-break-in-new-york-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/2016\/02\/24\/kreag-spring-break-in-new-york-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Kreag: Spring Break in New York City"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>You know what\u2019s scary?\u00a0 Its almost spring break.\u00a0 I remember just weeks ago I felt like this semester was going soooooo slowly, and yet suddenly, here we are, less than two weeks away from a week of freedom.\u00a0 I know that we have to survive midterms first, which are going to be a pain, but the hours and hours of studying will pay off once we begin our class-free week (and hopefully get some A\u2019s on our midterms).<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>This year I decided my spring break was going to be exciting.\u00a0 Last year I literally did nothing for spring break.\u00a0 I went home, but my friends back in Agawam all have their Spring Break the week after BU does, so it was basically me sitting alone in my house for seven days.\u00a0 This year, though, I decided to try something new.\u00a0 Instead of going home, I\u2019m taking a three day trip to New York City.\u00a0 For a lot of people this probably isn\u2019t a very exciting event, but as someone who has never been to the city, I am super excited.\u00a0 In reality, the only city I\u2019ve really ever been to is Boston, and as great as it is here, I am ready to go on an adventure in the Big Apple.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Here is a list of things I am really excited to see\/do in New York:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>-Rockefeller Plaza- I try and make it a habit to watch the Christmas tree lighting in Rockefeller Plaza live on tv every year, and the plaza always looks beautiful.\u00a0 I know I won\u2019t be seeing the tree there in March, but maybe I\u2019ll catch a glimpse of Liz Lemon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>-Times Square- The hotel I\u2019m staying at is actually in Times Square, which is super exciting since I\u2019ve always heard that it is an insanely busy place.\u00a0 Staying there for three days will be a perfect way to experience the life of New York City.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>-Walk the High Line.\u00a0 This is basically an old railroad converted into a linear park.\u00a0 I\u2019m hoping the weather remains nice enough to take a long walk down it at some point.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>-The Statue of Liberty- I don\u2019t know know if I actually want to journey to the top of the statue since I have a terrible fear of heights, but I at least want to catch a glimpse of it.<br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>-Grand Central Station\/Take the Subway- I have always wanted to see the inside of Grand Central Station, so this will be the perfect chance to do that!\u00a0 Also, I\u2019ve heard that the New York subway is much better than the T, so I\u2019m excited to ride it and compare.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>There are plenty of other things I\u2019m hoping to do in New York, but these are the real highlights I\u2019m hoping to hit while I\u2019m there.\u00a0 Hit me up on twitter @kreagsheehan if you have any fun New York City suggestions!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You know what\u2019s scary?\u00a0 Its almost spring break.\u00a0 I remember just weeks ago I felt like this semester was going soooooo slowly, and yet suddenly, here we are, less than two weeks away from a week of freedom.\u00a0 I know that we have to survive midterms first, which are going to be a pain, but &hellip;
