At COM, it\u2019s expected that students have 2+ internships while they\u2019re at BU. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>When I give tours for COM, I speak truthfully when I say that it is a competitive environment but not dog-eat-dog. We are all mutually motivated by each others\u2019 drive to succeed, but we are not beating each other down in order to reach our goals. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>I picked BU because I wanted to be in an environment where students supported each other. Since day one, I have found this kind of energy to be the core of COM\u2019s student body. I love working with my peers, and we all want each other to do well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>I knew this kind of environment was right for me. Naturally, I\u2019m disgustingly competitive and it is kind of like Abbi from Broad City where she goes Hulk. So\u2026 just bad. Now, I\u2019m finding myself in the middle of internship applications, and so is everyone else. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>How can I do my best to get what I want without being overly competitive with the people I care about? <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>The conclusions I have come to are: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>We are 20, 21 years old. Careers happen over lifetimes. If we don\u2019t get one opportunity <\/span><span>right now<\/span><span>, that\u2019s OKAY! <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>Take a breath. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>Friendship &gt; jobs. Be supportive of your friends. Peace and love, baby.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>Finally, BU prepares us <\/span><span>so well.<\/span><span> A lot of people worry that they\u2019re not ready for the real world. However, I truly believe that COM\u2019s students are naturally career-driven, and we will be fine &#8211; even better than fine! Great!<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>Can you tell I\u2019m graduating soon?
