We\u2019ve had to grapple with killer bees, a global pandemic, rising racial tensions, a presidential election, an attempted coup, confusing Gamestop stocks, climate change, Bridgerton, wildfires, oh my!<\/p>\n<p>And, it\u2019s only the beginning of second semester.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how I\u2019m dealing when the world is on fire, literally. Maybe one of these tips can help you, too.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em> <\/em><em>Journaling<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Before the pandemic, I rarely wrote about myself. But, now, my tune has changed. With everything going on, I find it cathartic to write about my life. This way, I can process my emotions before they start pouring onto another person. There\u2019s lots of different ways to journal \u2014 I personally love this<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.43.41-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 12.43.41 PM\" width=\"572\" height=\"572\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5159\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.43.41-PM.png 572w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.43.41-PM-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.43.41-PM-300x300.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 572px) 100vw, 572px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><em> <\/em><em>Keeping an Organized Calendar<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I don\u2019t know where I\u2019d be without my Google Calendar and Notion workspace. My bedroom has become my classroom, work office, dining room, study space and gym; it\u2019s easy to lose track of time. But, my organizers keep me healthy, safe and sane during these tough times.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.44.16-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 12.44.16 PM\" width=\"560\" height=\"564\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.44.16-PM.png 560w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.44.16-PM-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.44.16-PM-298x300.png 298w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><em> <\/em><em>Getting Fresh Air<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Admittedly, this is something I struggle with. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.harvard.edu\/newsletter_article\/a-prescription-for-better-health-go-alfresco\">studies<\/a> have shown that fresh air and sunshine are good for the soul. So, go for that morning walk. Take your dog for a run. Bike to Starbucks; you deserve it.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.44.37-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 12.44.37 PM\" width=\"570\" height=\"558\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.44.37-PM.png 570w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.44.37-PM-300x294.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><em> <\/em><em>Remembering to Breathe<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>It sounds silly, but I promise it\u2019s not. I schedule Breathing Breaks, as I call them, into my day. Sometimes I need to check-in with my body, relax my muscles and calm my mind. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.headspace.com\/headspace-meditation-app\">Headspace<\/a> app, free for BU students, can help with this as well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.45.01-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 12.45.01 PM\" width=\"650\" height=\"640\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5163\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.45.01-PM.png 650w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/comblog\/files\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-14-at-12.45.01-PM-300x295.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, now it\u2019s your turn. What works for me might not work for you. And that\u2019s okay. It\u2019s also okay to not be okay. There are days when I struggle to get out of bed. It can be hard to log-in to Zoom, or to turn on your camera, or to reach out to a classmate about that cup of coffee you said you wanted to get with them 3 months ago. But, no matter where you\u2019re at in life right now, it\u2019s okay. It\u2019s okay to feel <em>all<\/em> your feelings. It\u2019s okay to ask for help.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Lastly\u2026<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>I\u2019d be remiss to not include a few mental health resources. So, here\u2019s a non-exhaustive list of free resources for exhausted folks.
