But most importantly, Halloween is approaching \u2013 and there is no place like Boston for Halloween. Here are some of my picks for the best Halloween activities in the Greater Boston Area.<\/p>\n

Coolidge Corner Theatre\u2019s Halloween Line Up<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every Bostonian\u2019s favorite independent movie theater celebrates Halloween by screening old horror movies throughout the month of October. Enjoy the romanticism of an old theater while watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Poltergeist<\/em> and The Exorcist<\/em>, just to name a few. What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?<\/em> screened on Halloween night will top off the month of horror.<\/p>\n

ImprovBoston\u2019s Horror Show<\/strong><\/p>\n

Who says Halloween can\u2019t be funny? This year, ImprovBoston presents their 10th<\/sup> Annual Halloween Horror show. This year\u2019s show is a musical comedy titled \u201c28 Days Latte.\u201d The story follows a group hipsters and senior citizens as they barricade themselves in a coffee shop during the zombie apocalypse. What could be better? There are only ten shows this year, so order your (student-discounted) ticket soon!<\/p>\n

Pumpkin Palooza <\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re feeling both creative and charitable, consider painting and donating pumpkins with BU\u2019s Community Service Center this month. Stop by the BU Beach on Friday, October 19th from 11am-3pm to carve and paint a pumpkin. The CSC will donate the pumpkins to local shelters, hospitals and group homes to decorate for the Halloween season.<\/p>\n

Salem, MA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nothing puts me in the Halloween spirit quite like walking through downtown Salem during the month of October. Note that this is a place, not an event. That is because there are too many ghost walks, haunted tours, festivals and expos to name. Be sure to do some research beforehand \u2013 not all haunted houses are created equally. There are enough street performers and people dressed in elaborate costumes to make just walking around an entertaining experience. Salem is just a thirty-minute train ride from North Station \u2013 perfect for a day trip. Take a trip with some friends during an upcoming weekend. Or if you\u2019re feeling super adventurous, check it out on Halloween night.<\/p>\n

Rocky Horror Picture \u2013 AMC Boston Commons<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the past 28 years, the \u201cFull Body Cast\u201d of Boston <\/em>has performed The<\/em> Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em> every Saturday at midnight in Harvard Square. This year, although the location has changed to AMC Boston Common, the tradition lives on. As you might imagine, Halloween is a pretty big occasion for the cast. In addition to the usual Saturday show, the cast will perform on the Friday before Halloween and on Halloween night. You haven\u2019t experienced The Rocky Horror Picture Show <\/em>until you\u2019ve seen it live!<\/p>\n
