As an alternative to traditional pharmaco- or psycho- therapy, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/ideas\/2013\/12\/22\/when-doctors-prescribe-books-heal-mind\/H2mbhLnTJ3Gy96BS8TUgiL\/story.html\">doctors are now recommending self-help books<\/a> to patients to equip them with the skills to lift themselves out of their illnesses.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/core\/files\/2014\/04\/happy-books1-300x193.jpg\" alt=\"happy-books1\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4061\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/core\/files\/2014\/04\/happy-books1-300x193.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/core\/files\/2014\/04\/happy-books1.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Aside from the self-help genre, fiction books are also gaining attention in the medical community as effective treatments.
